Who We Are
Heart n Sole Dance Academy is a dance studio for all ages and ability levels. We like to say that when you join our studio, you become part of our family. Our studio will feel like a second home for you and your dancer. We provide a comprehensive dance education to meet the needs of all students, whether their goal is recreational, competitive, or professional dancing.
Our highly-trained instructors not only include proper technique and terminology in each class, they ensure your child is having fun while learning. In addition to our regular class schedule, private lessons are available for those students who want more personalized training. We really do offer something for everyone!

Mitzi has been dancing and performing since the age of 6. She was a student and teacher at Joyce Freeman Studio of Dance. While teaching for Joyce, Mitzi was director of "A Touch of Jazz" Dance Company which won nine first place awards. She has attended Dance Caravan and Dance Olympus dance classes in New York, and she was a member of the National Dance and Show Twirl Team. She has performed in various local theater productions. She has also choreographed shows at York Suburban High School and Middle School. Mitzi has been teaching for over 30 years and she is thrilled that Heart n Sole continues teaching the art of dance to the York community.

Kayla is so excited to be starting her first season with Heart n Sole! She started dancing at the age of four, and found her true passion for dance at The Katie Benson School of Dance. It was there that she studied Ballet/Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Acro, and Hip-Hop. After many years of studying dance as a student, Kayla gradually became a dance teacher's assistant, and eventually became an instructor in 2020. In addition to her dance background, Kayla is finishing up her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Millersville University, and plans to graduate in Fall 2024. She is passionate about the art of dancing and can't wait to share this love with her new dance family!

Rochelle is excited to begin her first season as a teacher with Heart n Sole. She began dancing at the age of 3 at the former Lynda Kay’s School of Dance in Dover studying tap, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. She taught classes there for 4 years as well as choreographed numbers for the dance company. In addition to her dance experience, she has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from York College of PA. Rochelle was overjoyed in 2022 when she discovered that Heart n Sole offered adult classes. For the last two seasons, she has taken both adult tap and ballet. Outside of dance, Rochelle is the Executive Assistant at HR HealthCare in York.

Zsanna is so excited to be starting her first season with Heart n Sole! Zsanna started dancing when she was four. She graduated from Slippery Rock University summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Business and Performance/Choreography, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Economics. Her university training focused on classical and contemporary ballet, Graham technique, release technique, Cunningham technique, commercial jazz, street dance, tap, Bharatanatyam, improvisation, and composition. Some of her past performances include a re-staging of Martha Graham’s “Steps in the Street” at the Joyce Theater in New York City, original choreography by James Washington Manning, and many works as part of Slippery Rock University’s Dance Theater. Recently, Zsanna choreographed The Wizard of Oz and Winnie The Pooh for Open Stage Theater in Harrisburg, PA. She is a passionate dance artist and advocate for the arts, and she cannot wait to meet the Heart n Sole family!

Taylor started dancing when she was eight years old after doing gymnastics for three years. She trained at a ballet-based studio before beginning to compete in contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, musical theater, and ballet. Taylor competed with the Morgan Crisp Dance Company’s Elite team in Spotsylvania, VA. During her senior year, she assisted with beginner ballet, tap, and Acro classes. She is so excited to be part of the Heart n Sole Dance Academy family this season!
